ABSTRACT
Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) is a malignant tumor of the epidermis
that mainly affects older adults. Factors such as the location,
diameter, and depth of the lesion, as well as the patient’s immune
status and the histological grade of the tumor, are associated with
a greater probability of recurrence, the development of metastasis,
and with a higher mortality.
We report a 77-year-old woman diagnosed with SCC characterized
rapid progression and invasion into the cranial cavity and
failure of chemotherapy. Early diagnosis is emphasized to avoid
the aggressive progression of SCC.
