ABSTRACT
The origins of the Mexican Association of Orthopedics and Traumatology, A.C. (AMOT) dates back to the 60 of the last century and although its original objectives were equal representation and rights for all specialists in traumatology and orthopedics in the Mexican Republic, regardless of their place of residence, it is until after its first congress held in 1971 in the city of Monterrey when it was included in its objectives; preparing, editing and distributing publications and other information related to the specialty. There were several attempts to have a permanent publication, however it was not until the end of the administration of Dr. F. Javier Pasos Novelo (president 2005-2007) in 2007 when the procedures for the acquisition of Orthotips magazine began, which It took place in March of the following year during the administration of Dr. Ramiro Padilla Gutiérrez (president 2007-2009). Since then Orthotips AMOT has been published uninterruptedly, with a production to date of 65 issues and 707 articles throughout its 19 years of existence. Currently, an update process appropriate to the new times of FEMECOT has begun.REFERENCES
