ABSTRACT
Introduction: mural infective endocarditis (MIE) is a rare form of infective endocarditis (IE), and no cases have been reported associated with Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
Clinical case: patient on hemodialysis with EIM of the right atrium caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Treatment included the removal of the hemodialysis catheter and switching to peritoneal dialysis. After antibiotic therapy, the patient was discharged in stable and asymptomatic condition.
Conclusion: the clinical outcomes of right-sided IE, including MIE, are generally better than those of left-sided IE, with the mortality rate being < 5 to 10%.
