ABSTRACT
Introduction: osteolysis of the distal clavicle is an underdiagnosed cause of shoulder pain. There is no reported incidence in the literature. It is most frequently caused by repetitive microtrauma in patients who perform weightlifting or overhead sports.
Case report: 22-year-old male with shoulder pain of one week of evolution.
Conclusion: due to the increase in sports practice, osteolysis of the distal clavicle will be an increasingly seen entity, so it is essential to recognize the clinical picture and magnetic resonance findings, being the edema of the bone marrow the most frequent and characteristic.
