ABSTRACT
Understanding and adopting photoprotective measures are crucial in the prevention of skin diseases related to sun exposure. The objective of this work was to analyze the understanding of 46 messages related to sun exposure in 30 patients, as a health promotion strategy at the first level of care. It was evaluated whether patients understood the messages in their entirety or in part. The authors suggest modifications to improve this understanding, emphasizing the use of more accessible language, considering the inclusion of images to facilitate it.
