ABSTRACT
Aphasia is the logophoniatric condition that most affects the lives of those who suffer from it. The objective is to describe the evolution of a 45-year-old mestizo woman who was admitted to the rehabilitation service at Celia Sánchez Manduley Teaching Clinical-Surgical Hospital in Manzanillo. The patient was admitted due to loss of comprehension and language after having suffered a cerebral infarction. The skull tomography confirmed brain lesiona at the level of the left temporoparietal region and the Luria test was performed to confirm the speech therapy diagnosis of sensory aphasia. It was concluded that, with the use of the parietal magnet and language therapy, it was possible to improve oral comprehension and the repetition of simple words. Her satisfactory evolution allowed her to re-join society and to improve her quality of life.
