ABSTRACT
Complement is part of the innate immune system and represents one of the main effector mechanisms of antibody-mediated immunity. It provides protection against pyogenic bacterial infections, bridging innate and adaptative immunity, and disposing of immune complexes and the products of inflammatory injury. In this review, we analyze the main activities of both complement classic and lectine binded to manosse pathways.
