ABSTRACT
Perforation of cardiovascular structures by catheter-
based techniques is a rare complication. In fact, lower
rates than 1.4% has been reported, with a mortality
rate of up to 77%, being resolved with a better result by
open approach with cardiopulmonary bypass support.
We present a 37-year-old male diagnosed with Wolf-Parkinson-
White syndrome in whom left lateral accessory
pathway ablation was performed. However, during the
procedure, complications such as perforations of the
right atrial roof and the right sinus of Valsalva were observed.
Both of them were successfully repaired by open
heart surgery.
