ABSTRACT
Peripheral venous cannulation is the procedure mostly
performed in pediatric emergencies. In more than
50% of cases it will not be possible on the first attempt,
because children have risk factors that make
this procedure more complicated. It is essential to
detect children with difficult venous access to avoid
complications.
