ABSTRACT
Introduction. The Legal Advice Service (SOJ) at the National Center for Sexual Education (CENESEX) works as a space for the attention, orientation and accompaniment of people whose sexual rights have been violated. Objective. Systematize the attention provided by the SOJ at CENESEX between the years 2013-2020. Methodology. It was carried out the documentary review and content analysis of the balance reports of the International Relations and Legal Advisory Group and Department of the years studied, as well as the publications that address the work of the SOJ and the registration of service data in the face-to-face modality. Results. During the study period, a total of 5,814 cases were attended, more than half in the form of postal correspondence. Most of the cases attended to the SOJ after having gone through various instances (police, administrative and judicial), where they received a treatment and/or response that did not satisfy their demands. Mostly people who were victims of violence due to sexual orientation and gender identity attended the service. The most frequent manifestation of child abuse attended to was child sexual abuse, to a greater extent girls and adolescents. Conclusions. Challenges were identified to improve the registration, care and monitoring of gender-based violence from an intersectional perspective; the decentralization of the SOJ to other provinces; the establishment of alliances with institutions for comprehensive care for victims of gender-based violence; the training of legal operators and public order agents on issues related to comprehensive sexuality education and sexual rights.
