ABSTRACT
Introduction. Adolescence is characterized by the need to go through experiences that can be risky, such as early sexual intercourse. Objective. Design an educational program on pregnancy for adolescents in office 8 of the Isabel Rubio Polyclinic. Methodology. Applied and descriptive research that consisted of the first stage of diagnosis and the second stage of design of an educational program. Universe of 47 adolescents, according to inclusion criteria. Summary measures were used for qualitative data. Results. Identified as the main results: insufficient knowledge of pregnancy on the part of adolescents, who only recognize physical risks and not the psychological and socioeconomic ones, and although the majority recognize contraceptive methods, there is little use of them, which constitutes risk behaviors not only for pregnancy but also for sexually transmitted infections. Conclusions. The female sex, the stage of intermediate adolescence from 16 to 17 years old, and the single marital status prevailed. The average level of knowledge of pregnancy in adolescence is the one that most adolescents have, evidencing differences between both sexes; the main learning needs to be referred to are the sexual cycle and fertile period; the physical, psychosocial, and socioeconomic risks, and the contraceptive methods. An educational program on pregnancy for adolescents was designed.REFERENCES
