ABSTRACT
Introduction. Type 2 diabetes is a chronic degenerative metabolic disease and a significant public health concern. Its vascular complications lead to reduced blood flow in the lower extremities, coupled with neuropathic damage, making diabetic foot the primary risk factor for non-traumatic amputations. Objective. The purpose of this nursing process is to identify the real and potential needs of a patient diagnosed with diabetic foot and their family. Nursing activities will be established to cover and resolve the complications involved in all aspects. Methodology. Includes assessment by apparatus-systems and the Marjory Gordon Model. Data were taken from the clinical record. Present needs were identified, and nursing diagnoses were formulated. Evidence-based interventions were then established using the NANDA, NOC, and NIC taxonomies to achieve expected outcomes. Results. The following diagnoses were identified in patients with diabetic foot: uncontrolled diabetes and hypertension, chronic kidney disease, obesity, advanced age, lack of adherence to pharmacological treatment, dietary issues, and muscle weakness. Diagnostic labels included unstable glycemia levels, excess fluid volume, impaired skin integrity, peripheral neurovascular dysfunction, obesity, and ineffective self-management of health. Conclusion. The approach to diabetic foot care is complex and requires a multidisciplinary approach. The primary goal is to reduce the economic impact of the condition, improve quality of life, maintain functionality and productivity, and increase patient survival.REFERENCES
