ABSTRACT
Idiopathic condylar resorption is an uncommon degenerative disease that affects the mandibular condyle, having a higher incidence in females during adolescence. The minimally invasive first-choice management is with occlusal guards, which are intra oral removable devices that can reduce the symptoms of the disease. The digital era in dentistry, such as the use of intraoral scanners, additive manufacturing (3D printing), and CAD/CAM computer-aided design, allow us to elaborate these devices in a digital flow, through specialized software and hardware, facilitating and reducing work time from impression taking to its preparation in the dental laboratory. This report deals with a 17-year-old female patient with a diagnosis of idiopathic condylar resorption on the left side. The treatment plan consisted of the use of an occlusal guard whose preparation was carried out by digital flow, which favored improving the prognosis of the condition of the temporomandibular joint, expanding the panorama of dentistry in the digital age.
