ABSTRACT
Background: Plasmacytoid blast neoplasm is rare, predominates in men. Clinically,
skin lesions are manifested, with no report of compromised airway mucosa.
Clinical case: This paper reports two documented clinical cases with affection
of airway mucosa, CD123 positive, in which the diagnosis of blastic plasmacytoid
dendritic cell neoplasia was confirmed.
Conclusions: Blastic plasmacytoid dendritic cell neoplasia is an underdiagnosed
disease because the clinical presentation can be confused with other hematological or
dermatological diseases. In patients with lesions in the airway mucosa, it is necessary
to consider this hematological disease.
