ABSTRACT
The dentigerous cyst and the odontoma are entities commonly associated with impacted teeth. These entities can compromise dental mobility, functionality or affect aesthetics problems. This case report describes the surgical approach of a 12-year-old patient with retention of the right mandibular canine, the enucleation of a dentigerous cyst, removal of a odontoma and placement of an orthodontic button for traction of the impacted tooth. A multidisciplinary approach, a early diagnosis with the appropriate diagnostic tools and an adequate surgical-orthodontic management, allow the retained teeth a possibility for a correct eruption in the dental arch. The objective of this clinical case was to eliminate the pathological processes associated with the retained tooth and bring it to its correct position in the dental arch.
