ABSTRACT
Lipomas are some of the most common mesenchymal soft tissue tumors. They are found mostly in subcutaneous tissue and are composed of mature adipose tissue. Approximately 1.8% can be located within the muscle mass and are called intramuscular lipomas. Their location in the biceps, associated with the presence of pain is rare. We present the case of a 29-year-old female with a rapidly growing intramuscular lipoma in the forearm, with compression of the median nerve, which caused pain and paresthesias in the upper extremity. The objective of this article is to show the symptoms that can be caused by an intramuscular lipoma, as a differential diagnosis to other tumor masses, as well as the use of diagnostic tests and their appropriate treatment.
