ABSTRACT
There is currently an emergency in global public health due to the Covid-19 pandemic caused by SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus. The disease has caused millennial deaths and millions of spreads throughout the globe. The principal system affected is the respiratory system, however, the virus can also affect other organs such as gastrointestinal tract and the liver. Digestive endoscopy is a high-risk procedure for disease transmission, all endoscopic procedures carry a high risk of transmission due to the presence of SARS-CoV-2 in the nasopharyngeal exudate. During endoscopy, aerosols are generated, along with the possibility of transmission from close contact from person to person and by surfaces contaminated with fluids. The goal of the review is to update us on the impact and risk of infections from SARS-CoV-2 on endoscopy services, on the patients, and the new work environment. While this pandemic last, we must update indications and promote protective measures for patients and health professionals. Covid-19 pandemic has impacted and changed priorities and our forms of work, even the repercussions after we return to normal are unknown.REFERENCES
