System of psychosocial actions for the orientation of the family of breast cancer patients

ABSTRACT
Breast cancer has a psychological impact that affects not only those diagnosed but also their families. Thus, an investigation was carried out with the objective of theoretically support a system of psychosocial actions for the orientation of families of breast cancer patients. The study took place at the Oncological Hospital of Camagüey during the period from September 2020 to September 2021. Its results pay tribute to a project belonging to the Center for the Development of Social and Humanistic Sciences in Health. The application of semi-structured interviews and a battery of psychological tests to evaluate depression, anxiety, coping, affectivity and family functioning, it allowed the diagnosis to be made in the sample made up of 81 relatives. The philosophical, psychological and sociological foundations that it possesses include the system approach among its main theoretical supports. It was implemented in the mastology service of the aforementioned hospital in a pilot sample of six relatives.REFERENCES
