ABSTRACT
The intergenerational process of Self differentiation, allows us to
describe the transmission of behavioral, thought, emotional and
interactive patterns through generations. This article aims to
observe the intergenerational process in couple situations. We
selected 50 couples. We presented hypothetical situations
categorized in different topics and the level of agreement and
disagreement regarding how they solve the situation was measured;
the way they were taught in their families or in a different way. Data
shows that couples tend to maintain the styles presented by their
families of origin. However, this transmission is not linear.
