ABSTRACT
The reconstruction of cutaneous and soft tissue defects in the head and neck region presents a challenge to the reconstructive surgeon in terms of providing satisfying results that are both functional and aesthetically acceptable. The temporoparietal fascia flap represents a key tool in the plastic surgeon's repertoire, granting us with the ability to get a pliable flap of considerable dimensions, with a wide rotation arc and robust vascularity using a relatively simple surgical technique with low donor site morbidity. This paper aims to present the case of an elderly patient with multiple risk factors who underwent a wide excision in the periorbital and supraciliary region after developing a skin neoplasm. An immediate reconstruction of the ensuing defect was possible by means of a pediculated temporoparietal fascia flap that had a satisfactory outcome, with minimal aesthetic and functional morbidity, as well as absence of tumoral recurrence.
