Blowing out cake candles: a way of transmitting pathogens

ABSTRACT
Coronavirus disease due to published studies on the spread of the virus through aerosols and saliva droplets, birthday celebrations have had to be modified, one of them is the act of blowing out the candles to extinguish them as has been practiced in various countries for many years, within the modifications many of them adapted by merchants and alternative ideals of people, without any research support or endorsed by any institute or ministry of health. Bacteria are an inevitable part of life, present in and on almost everything humans come in contact with. Whether benign or pathogenic, it is important to understand how bacteria are transferred and to become familiar with measures to avoid contamination.
