ABSTRACT
The diagnosis of pregnancy-related cancer is becoming increasingly common. Although its prevalence is still relatively low, the seriousness of its consequences, such as maternal death, abortion, and infant comorbidities, makes it a topic of utmost relevance. Pregnancy-related cancer is surrounded by myths and misinformation; however, with the resources and tools available today, it is possible to diagnose and treat it effectively, balancing the risks and benefits of radiation imaging studies, surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy.Pregnancy-related cancer is not a death sentence, but its management requires a multidisciplinary approach involving specialists in oncology, obstetrics, pediatrics, radiology, and psychology. This article presents the most common types of cancer diagnosed during pregnancy and explores the psychological implications associated with this situation. Additionally, it examines the updated best practices in the diagnosis, treatment, and comprehensive management of this complex condition.
