ABSTRACT
Introduction: Chronic diseases are associated with inappropriate eating behaviors and have work consequences and irritation is needed to improve them, however, there are challenges such as the geographical barrier, cost and professionals. There is still no evidence of the efficacy of virtual educational models to improve eating behaviors in workers. Objective: Evaluate the effects of a virtual educational model in nutrition. Material and method: A quasi-experimental study with educational intervention was carried out in a virtual learning environment. The behaviors linked to the consumption of fruits and vegetables were evaluated immediately and six months later. Behaviors linked to the consumption of fruits and vegetables were evaluated immediately and six months later. The analysis was performed in SPSS 25 and Epidat 3.1. Results: Of the 77 participants, 56 (72.7%) are women, mean age 39.42 years (± 8.26). There was a significant improvement immediately (p ‹ 0.05) and six months later (p ‹ 0.05) in the behavior of consuming fruits daily, consuming at least three servings of fruits per day, and daily consumption of vegetables. Conclusion: The virtual educational model in nutrition improves the eating behavior of workers in the short and long term, it is low cost and reproducible.REFERENCES
