ABSTRACT
Since the WHO declared the outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19) a pandemic on
March 11, 2020, emergency department records showed a decrease in admissions for
ST-segment elevation acute coronary syndromes (SICA CEST) and Mexico was no exception.
The authors evaluate the records of patients diagnosed with SICA CEST, adhered
to the fourth universal definition of acute myocardial infarction who presented from
January 1st to June 31st, 2019, and compared with the first semester of 2020 in three
tertiary care hospitals in Mexico City.
