ABSTRACT
The existing scales to stratify the risk of thrombosis do not include thrombogenic factors that are generated in aesthetic procedures, which causes inadequate assessment and prophylaxis. We present the result of a consensus that served to select and ponder the factors that should be included in a scale used to stratify the risk of thrombosis in cosmetic surgery patients. The consensus was carried out with the participation of 22 judges. In the first stage, the importance of designing a new scale was discussed. In the second, the impact of the proposed factors was pondered and stratified. In the third, the judges helped to simplify and define the factors conceptually. 91.6% consider it important or very important to create a scale to stratify the risk of thrombosis in cosmetic surgery patients. 95.8% consider that prophylactic care should be carried out according to the degree of risk stratification. Twenty one factors were analyzed using the 5-point Likert scale. The grading went from 3.72 to 4.95, the average was 4.53; Cronbach's alpha was 0.820. The judges recommended removing two factors as they considered that they had minimal impact on thrombogenesis. Having done this, 19 elements remained, which will shape the new score (Cronbach's alpha was 0.814). The elements that had a low rating will be subject to a subsequent review, to verify the degree of impact on risk stratification. This stage of research is the basis for structuring a predictive model of thrombosis in cosmetic surgery patients.
