ABSTRACT
Objective: To describe the endoscopic transurcal parafasicular transparietal Brain Port approach, guided by ultrasound, in a patient diagnosed with grade 1 ganglioglioma.
Clinical case report: We report the case of an 11-year-old male patient, with epilepsy and aseptic chemical meningitis as the debut of a right parietal nodular cystic brain lesion. An approach to the right parietal region was performed through minicraniotomy, followed by transurcal intraparietal approach with dissection of the white intergyral association fibers, guided by ultrasound and endoscopic magnification. Total macroscopic resection of the mural nodule was achieved. The pathological diagnosis showed grade 1 ganglioglioma. The patient's postoperative course was satisfactory.
Conclusions: The transurcal parafasicular endoscopic Brain Port approach, guided by ultrasonography, is an effective method to achieve the correct location and complete removal of the lesion as a method of minimally invasive guided surgery.
