ABSTRACT
Introduction: This article is based on the results of gait studies in healthy children and the basis for determining the biomechanical pattern of normal gait in Cuban children. Objective: To determine the manifestation of gait invariants in Cuban adults that reveal trends that contribute to the characterization of the biomechanical pattern of gait.
Methods: The quantitative data that characterize the gait invariants was compared to the data obtained in a motion capture laboratory with Vicon 3D system. To this end we used a sample of three adult subjects of different ages, weight, height, and sex.
Results: When developing the gait pattern to flexion-extension of the knee and dorsiflexion and plantar flexion of the ankle, greater attention should be paid due to the marked differences.
Conclusion: The results obtained show similarities in the ranges of values with studies carried out in Spanish populations and on occasions the differences in the parameters were less than 0.20.
