ABSTRACT
Success in facial skeleton surgery depends largely on exposure and the surgical approach. The face is an area of high aesthetics, a striking scar can cause discomfort to the patient. Several surgical accesses to the orbit have been described, the main ones being through the skin of the eyelid or the conjunctiva. We describe the prevalence of orbital floor fractures in the High Specialty Medical Unit "Dr. Victorio de la Fuente Narváez" of the Mexican Social Security Institute, based on the records of patients admitted to the hospital in the afternoon shift in a one year period (from November 2018 to November 2019), in addition to describing the technique for the transconjunctival approach with lateral canthotomy.
