ABSTRACT
Marjolin's ulcer is a cutaneous malignant neoplasm that develops on previously injured skin, in long-standing scars or chronic wounds. It is rare, however, when it develops, its outcome is unfortunate, since it can give rise to an epidermoid carcinoma that causes metastasis. In this article we report a case of Marjolin's ulcer in a 43-year-old male patient, in which an epidermoid carcinoma developed, complicated by sepsis and necrotizing fasciitis, leading to the patient's death.
