ABSTRACT
Botulinum toxin is a neurotoxin produced by Clostridium botulinum,
widely used in dermatology, aesthetic medicine, and other
medical specialties. In the last years it’s been reported its efficiency
in treating other dermatological disorders, including
rosacea, oily skin and dilated pores, hypertrophic scars and keloids,
among others. The objective of this literature revision is
to make emphasis in those three conditions, explaining possible
mechanisms of action and its actual evidence.
