ABSTRACT
Background: presenting and sharing the knowledge generated that contributes to the progress of science and a proposal for solutions aimed at stopping the COVID-19 pandemic is a premise for Cuban researchers. Objective: to describe some bibliometric indicators in the scientific publications on COVID-19 generated at the “Comandante Manuel Fajardo Rivero” Army Hospital, in Villa Clara.
Methods: an observational and descriptive study, of a cross-sectional nature, was carried out from June 2020 to March 2021; the 15 articles published by researchers from the aforementioned hospital were reviewed in the open access modality. Theoretical methods were used: analysis-synthesis and inductive-deductive; and empirical ones: documentary review of the articles for the analysis of bibliometric indicators: types according to subject; number of authors by articles, co-authorship networks according to quartile, language and number of citations.
Results: most of the articles were original, multiple authorship, written in English and published in first quartile journals. All publications have received at least one citation, which made it possible to establish a recognized impact factor.
Conclusions: the publications show scientific collaboration in the treatment of COVID-19 in Cuba and the visibility of the research results associated with this disease in high-impact journals.
