ABSTRACT
Symptomatic Rathke's cleft cysts are rare sellar and suprasellar lesions that arise from the epithelial remnant of Rathke's pouch, almost always their diagnosis is an incidental finding since in most cases they are asymptomatic. When they appear they are due to their increase in size which exerts a vector effect until compressing neighboring structures, causing headache, visual alterations and pituitary dysfunction. It occurs in adults between the fourth and fifth decade of life. We present two cases of patients diagnosed with Rathke's pouch cysts out of a total of 1,835 transsphenoidal approaches performed at HE CMN La Raza, IMSS.
