ABSTRACT
Primary cutaneous mucinous carcinoma is a rare malignant neoplasm, that belong to a group of adnexal tumors of the skin. They are slow growing, mucin producer and commonly arises in the head and neck region. Some of its differential diagnoses are sebaceous cyst, hemangioma, melanoma, neurofibroma, pilomatrixoma and metastatic deposits. The main challenge in these lesions is to differentiate it from more frequent mucinous secondary deposits. Immunohistochemistry is mandatory to differentiate these lesions from metastases. Surgical excision with wide margins of at least 10 millimeters or Mohs surgery is the main stay of treatment due to the tendency of local recurrence.
