ABSTRACT
Cytomegalovirus (CMV) is the most important pathogen causing opportunistic infections in renal allograft recipients. The development of CMV disease is associated with increased morbidity, a higher incidence of other opportunistic infections, loss of allografts, and death. Therefore, an effective strategy is required to prevent CMV disease after kidney transplantation. We present the case of a patient who suffers from a severe gastrointestinal condition due to the pathogen itself with subsequent adequate clinical evolution.REFERENCES
