ABSTRACT
Objective: To present a case with the diagnosis of plasmacytoid dendritic cell blast neoplasia.Method: Retrospective and descriptive study of a patient with the diagnosis of this malignant hemopathy.
Results: female patient, Caucasian, of urban origin, 27 years of age with a previous health history until in August 2016 she began with fever, arthralgia, bicytopenia (anemia and leukopenia) and scattered, erythematous, papulenolar skin lesions with predominance in face and both upper and lower limbs. A skin and bone marrow biopsy was performed and both showed massive infiltration by dendritic cells. She began chemotherapy treatment with HyperCVAD scheme in November 2016 and after the first cycle she achieved significant improvement in skin and bone marrow lesions in complete hematological remission. She was administered one more cycle of treatment maintaining a good response and she underwent hematopoietic transplantation of allogeneic progenitor cells in April 2017, in complete remission to date.
Conclusions: Despite being an entity with a poor prognosis, complete remission can be achieved with allogeneic progenitor cell transplantation.
