Treatment Options For Facial Rejuvenation By Fillers

ABSTRACT
Introduction: Facial aging is inexorable but it is possible to reduce its progress
by facial remodeling without surgery. Autologous fat facial transfer and
hyaluronic acid stand out. Further study is required and that is de objetive of
this review.
Objective: To determine advantages of adipose tissue in facial rejuvenation by
minimally invasive fat transfer technique versus hyaluronic acid in patients with
facial aging signs.
Method: A literature review was carried out, in Spanish and English, to identify
articles published between 2008 and 2021. Fifty-eight articles were retrieved
on the advantages and disadvantages of fat transfer and hyaluronic acid filling
as options for minimally invasive facial rejuvenation.
Results: The literature highlights advantages of autologous facial fat transfer
with respect to histocompatibility, safety and durability. They defend
hyaluronic acid filler as a lower-cost, short-term rejuvenation option.
Conclusions: Lipotransfer has advantages that derive from the use of an
autologous product, however, both facial filling methods have a similar
acceptance rate.
