ABSTRACT
The ethics committee of the Faculty of Sciences in Health (CEFCS) was established on the basis of national and international regulations in force in the year 2011. It is a multidisciplinary, operative, propositive and consultative organism that generates spaces for reflection, analysis and discussion on ethical issues arising from the development of scientific research as an advisory body, as collateral, ethical follow-up and Autoregulation. Objective: To present the achievements and challenges of the Ethics Committee of the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of La Salle, Bogotá. Materials and methods: study based on documentary Review of Archives and on the experiences of the members of the Committee. Results: Up to the year 2017 42 research projects have been evaluated disciplinary in optometry, basic sciences, and occupational health, with descriptive, analytical and qualitative designs. Achievements: Training of the academic community on the importance of respect for the dignity and autonomy of the subjects of investigation, on the good clinical practices and the support to the development of subjects and the dynamization of the ethical reflection in investigation and publications on the subject of ethics. Challenges: Resistance continues to be observed on the part of the investigators to respond to the requirements of the Committee, being sometimes perceived as an obstacle to the fluid development of the projects; There are also difficulties in monitoring the research processes and lack of economic autonomy of the Committee. Conclusions: This organism has been having visibility and recognition to the academic and scientific community with important achievements and great challenges for its future.REFERENCES
