ABSTRACT
Introduction. The tendence to advance sexual behaviors and attitudes at an early age, the acts that are usually simplified as ideas of the children or imitations without consequences, the reproductions of the children of observed patterns and the constant contact with hypersexualized images, hide behind itself a phenomenon with many risks, considered by various experts as mistreatment of girls and boys. It is named early eroticization or hyper sexualization.
Objective. No one can deny the nexus of this phenomenon with the cultural and symbolic war that brutally impacts our infants around the world. As a result, children are exposed to messages, behaviors and customs with high loads of eroticism that they are not prepared to understand. Involved in a machista culture that places women as objects of desire and perfection, they tend to be much more affected; therefore, they are more vulnerable to sexual harassment, self-esteem problems and other risks. In Cuba we are not on the sidelines.
Methodology. By doing a documentary analysis, we identified that the risks of child eroticization are many and subtle, all with a significant degree of complexity, from depression to decreased personal autonomy.
Results. The work aims to identify its consequences in the long and medium term, and contributes to preventing the phenomenon in childhood.
Conclusions. It is urgent to let the children grow at their own pace and not to violate them with exposures to sexuality that are harmful to their development. A comprehensive sexuality education is essential; with positive role models who help them face gender stereotypes and develop their own self-esteem.
