ABSTRACT
Hair loss occurs in 40% of female population, the main cause
is female pattern alopecia. Hair transplantation has become the
therapeutic option with a better long-term prognosis causing a
great psychological impact. It can be performed with two techniques,
by strip method (FUT) and by follicular unit extraction
(FUE). Before performing the surgical hair restoration, a thorough
evaluation of the patient is needed to rule out another
etiology of hair loss in women. We present three patients with
female pattern alopecia who underwent hair transplant using
the strip technique (FUT). A careful patient selection as well as
an individualized hair transplant plan are essential for a successful
hair growth.
