ABSTRACT
Hair loss is a common problem for both men and women with
the potential to impact negatively the self-esteem and psychosocial
functioning of our patients. Scalp micro-pigmentation
(SMP) is a camouflage procedure, non-invasive, accessible, and
that in a few hours can be used to cover practically 100% of any
area of alopecia, like scaring and non-scaring alopecias.
SMP consists of choosing a pigment color that exactly
matches the color of the patient’s hair, creating dots and lines
that soften the contrast between the hair and the color of the
scalp, thus creating an illusion of greater density. Several cases
will be presented in which the SMP managed to significantly improve
the quality of life of our patients in many of them in a
radical way.
