ABSTRACT
Langerhans histocytosis is a rare disease, which can affect one
or several organs and the classification depends on this. It can
be localized or disseminated and the treatment is adapted to
each patient. The clinical manifestations are very varied due to
the wide range of affectation of the patients. In case of persistent
seborrheic dermatitis that does not respond to the initial
diagnostic/therapeutic approach, trichoscopy and biopsy
are mandatory. In scalp it can manifest with scarring alopecia
plaques, in addition to papular and ulcerative lesions in folds,
the main characteristic being that they are recalcitrant to usual
treatments.
This article presents the case of an adult male patient,
whose main manifestations are on the skin and mainly on the
scalp. The most frequently described findings in the literature
are inflammatory lesions with a seborrheic appearance, yellowish
crusty plaques, and scaling. This case is not exception, however,
it also presents scarring alopecia, which is infrequent, and
we highlight the trichoscopic findings, which very little has been
described.
