ABSTRACT
We present the case of an adolescent from Guantánamo’s province who came to Endocrinology consultation for left unilateral exophthalmos of approximately eleven months of evolution. She was only characterized by blurred vision and easy eye fatigue. Clinically euthyroid. She underwent different studies for etiological diagnosis, finding a slight increase in thyroid function. Eleven months after starting the medical follow-up, she was diagnosed with a thyroid-associated orbitopathy. It is concluded with the ratification that orbitopathy does not always appear at the diagnosis of hyperthyroidism; it may precede it, or appear after the treatment of the disease even when the state of euthyroidism has been reached. Hence, it is better defined as thyroid-associated orbitopathy. In addition to being a rare onset condition in pediatric ages in the course of Graves' disease.
