ABSTRACT
Objective: To describe the clinical and image characteristics of a female patient with spontaneous cervicodorsal epidural hematoma, his treatment and evolution.
Clinical case report: The case of a patient who debuted with headache, cervicalgia, discomfort in his lower right limb and difficulties for intercourse and urination is reported. She underwent a computed tomography and a magnetic column resonance. A spontaneous cervicodorsal epidural hematoma was confirmed. The treatment was conservative, methylprednisolone, furosemide, tramadol and gabapentin. She was discharged from the hospital on the fifteenth day, with satisfactory evolution.
Conclusions: Using imaging examination, the diagnosis of the patient could be verified; and using a conservative treatment, surgical intervention was avoided. This patient had a favorable outcome using a less invasive approach.
