ABSTRACT
Background: Inverted nasal papilloma is one of the most common benign nasal tumors that requires surgical treatment. It is associated with the human papilloma virus and is more frequent in men.Clinical case: A 46-year-old female patient who presented symptoms of nasal obstruction and rhinorrhea for 8 months until she was assessed by the ENT service of the National Institute of Rehabilitation, Mexico. A nasal papilloma was suspected and an office biopsy was performed, confirming the diagnosis. The neoplasm was resected endoscopically, resulting in inverted nasal papilloma with areas of squamous cell carcinoma.
Conclusions: The importance of this case report resides in the fact that regardless of the biopsy result that can be obtained in the office, it is always important to obtain the complete piece and send it to pathology study for a final result and subsequent treatment.
