ABSTRACT
Introduction: Pancreatic pseudocysts are collections with no defined epithelial walls, derived from the rupture of the pancreatic conduct. Most of these lesion will resolve themselves spontaneously; diagnosis becomes evident once complications begin to show (infection, haemorrhage, laceration and/or obstruction).Case: Female 27 years old with a background of cholelithiasis. Symptoms begin two days before with epigastric pain, vomit and dehydration.
Labs: Hyperbilirrubinemia, elevation of lipase and amylase 3 times over expected levels. She is admitted for treatment of acute pancreatitis and choledocholithiasis. During endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) we observed a rupture of pancreatic conduct, which is rarely identified at the beginning of the disease, corroborating it radiologically.
