ABSTRACT
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), in the classification
of cutaneous lymphomas, T/NK cell lymphoma is divided
into two categories: extranodal T/NK nasal type (Lenktn),
and aggressive NK cell leukemia. As such, the extranasal type
includes the skin, gastrointestinal system, spleen, testes, salivary
glands, lungs, and bone marrow. Although the etiology is unknown,
most of the time an association with the Epstein-Barr
virus has been seen. These lymphomas generally present in an
advanced stage at diagnosis, with multisystemic involvement,
so the most important prognostic factor is the extension of
the disease at the time of diagnosis and the early establishment
of appropriate treatment. We present the case of a 65-yearold
patient with extranasal T-cytotoxic phenotype T/NK cell
lymphoma who developed mainly cutaneous manifestations,
received chemotherapy with good initial response, however,
due to the associated infectious complications, it had a fatal
outcome.
