ABSTRACT
Dr. Rosa Elena Simeón Negrín´s life and work, a native from Bejucal, Mayabeque province, is presented. She is an outstanding personality of Cuban Medicine and Veterinary Medicine, because of her work, she stands out in the field of Virology, she became ideal in the management of highly prestigious research centers in Cuba. She was a defender of the environment, she worked throughout her career as a researcher, politician and doctor, with multiple studies and results, especially in animal and tropical plant health. Her work as Minister of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment in favor of international treaties on the conservation of the ozone layer, the fight against drought and deforestation, demonstrate once again the importance of the role of the Cuban women within Cuban science and technology.REFERENCES
