ABSTRACT
Acute bacterial rhinosinusitis represents one of the respiratory infections more often seen, however, many times its correct diagnosis and adequate treatment is not properly established. The objective of this article is to present a simple review for the nonotolaryngologyst, so an adequate diagnosis and treatment can be set up. A summary based on the current literature was done.
Conclusion: Acute bacterial rhinosinusitis is diagnosed on a clinical basis, the proper antimicrobial agent should be chosen depending on the case, it is advised that adjuvant treatment is added to improve the clinical resolution of the disease.
