Stimulation for the development of children with dystonia

ABSTRACT
Early and timely attention to children with dystonia from the earliest ages has been considerably transformed from time to time, according to cultures, the development of sciences and the prevailing economic-social regime. Dystonia are applied to a neurological syndrome, characterized by involuntary movements caused by tonic, slowly sustained contraction of muscle groups, with absence of coordination between agonists and antagonists, causing repetitive torsional movements or abnormal postures. The movements can affect several muscle groups at the same time and are usually present at rest and aggravated by voluntary movement. The dystonic clinic is fluctuating and its clinical expression can be modified by various sensory stimuli. The association of tremor is frequent. Local or distant pain is usually another characteristic and in turn the main cause of disability. To address the importance of stimulation for the biological, psychological and social development of children with dystonia, taking into account historical-concrete conditions in the international context and in Cuba. As results, it was evidenced that the execution of a suitable approach from early ages on the part of the specialists that work with this type of pathology can elevate the quality of life to these infants and in the conclusions it is evident that the different Psychpedagogical theories and the Sociology of education, have positively influenced the education of children with dystonia, by giving importance to stimulation for their development.REFERENCES
