ABSTRACT
Myiasis is a parasitic condition caused by Dermatobia hominis fly larvae, which can affect the tissues and organs of vertebrates (including humans). This is the case of a 9 month-old white infant, from a rural area of Urachiche municipality, Yaracuy State, Venezuela, with a history of good health, who was taken by his mother to the Comprehensive Diagnosis Center because she noticed the presence of macular-papular lesions on the scalp, with larvae inside. The corresponding hematological and imaging tests were performed and ivermectin was administered orally, in doses of 0.2 mg per kilogram of weight, which led to a successful treatment.REFERENCES
